Shattered Glass

August 24, 2026
Just a couple days before the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse at 4 Pisces, the glass patio door in my walkout basement art studio, shattered into a million pieces during the night.
I heard a loud bang through the earplugs while I slept, woke up, looked around the room, did not see anything and went back to sleep. Then I heard a second bang just like the first one. I looked around the room again, did not see anything and went back to sleep.
In the morning, my cat acted very strange. He refused to leave the upper floor of the house. Investigating the lover floors, I discovered the shattered doorway; now a gaping opening in the room with wind and rain blowing in. Stunned, surprised, curious and afraid of what might be the cause, I looked for evidence of an invasion. Circumstances felt mysterious, because there was no evidence of foul play. Apparently, this kind of thing happens to glass from time to time.
The suddenness of this incident had me perplexed and feeling vulnerable. My personal sanctuary was breached. The shards of shattered glass were scattered over the floor on the inside and outside of the doorway. It looked eerily like a threshold or portal of kinds. The wind and rain entering the dry space inside exaggerated the sense of contradiction between gateway and invasion. My safe firm structures have crumbled and barriers has broken down. The question is whether this event symbolizes a caution or liberation? The outside is coming in, and the inside is exposed to the elements.
Life is fragile. Structures are breakable. But open entryways announce new possibilities.
What does a shattered glass door tell me about my life right now? Are my horizons in need of expanding and do I need to open myself more to natural influences or is it that I need to protect and secure my boundaries. One thing is for sure; change is in the air.
I think this is how transiting Pluto squaring my natal Saturn could be about. Pluto is destroying and transforming old structures (Saturn). The things I am holding on to which I rely on to give me stability is probably outdated and need reassessing and renewing. These “structures” are physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual. I need to do deep internal as well as physical work to cooperate with this transformative opportunity.
Transiting Neptune is also inconjunct my natal Saturn at the same time. Dreams and dissolving boundaries could conflict with the secure structures built over a lifetime. Transiting Pluto will move into affecting my Venus, mercury Sun and Moon, soon after the Saturn.
This experience pulled me into an art-making mode. I flet like protruding through a vortex or portal into illuminated insights about myself and the world around me and had to express that sensation in my making. What you see here is some of that feeling.
